Passing of Lifetime Trustee John Brademas

On July 11, 2016 Lifetime Trustee John Brademas passed away at the age of 89 in Manhattan. The Trustees of Anatolia College recognize Dr. Brademas for his fifteen years of service, and acknowledge his wise counsel to Anatolia^27s Trustees, students, faculty and administration.

Dr. Brademas was the first Greek-American elected to the United States Congress where he advocated for education, the arts, and U.S.-Greece relations for twenty-two years. In 2005, NYU opened the John Brademas Center for the Study of Congress at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, which continues to advance both scholarly and public understanding of the role of Congress in the American Constitutional system.

Dr. Brademas received honorary degrees from over 55 universities. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 1949, and received his PhD from Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar in 1954.
